Our European adventure led us on a little journey. The five of us packed into the tiny car and headed to the little farm where my father grew up and where my grandmother still lives. The farm was built by my grandfather and is a place where simple living is the word you use to describe the little village.
Juby explored the garden with me while family had snacks and turkish coffee. Juby found little rocks and berries and had fun tossing them among the dirt. Kids will be kids as she played with her cousin Luka and fell down and scrapped her little knee.
The next day rain droplets fell from the sky and made the farm smell fresh. Juby played in the rain in her little blue rain boots as we ate lunch before we said "goodbye and until next time" to our family. We headed to the city of Dubrovnik where a chunk of the tv show Game Of Thrones is filmed. We wandered the old city and walked across the giant stone wall. We also visited the garden where the show is filmed.
The garden was magical. As always; I am overjoyed when I enter a garden. I have had the pleasure of shooting and visiting beautiful gardens in Canada and London and many other places but I have never seen a garden quite like this. The tropical trees mixed with hedges and beautiful lush flowers. It was a dream.
The smell of the rain had an England feel to me and the beautiful soft light fell upon our faces and the garden. We came across the stone fountain and were in awe. "A" and I stopped for a romantic photo taken by our brother in law Pete.
There was an overwhelming feeling I had in my chest for the last two days. Now I sit hear back on my other grandmas island relaxing outside with my family. It's chillier then it has been the last few days and truly feels as though this part of my adventure is coming to an end.
It's been a week filled with love from my niece, fun with my family, sleep deprivation but all over happiness.I love this way of life. xx
