When I get some down time from all of the hard work that goes into costume making, set designing, shooting and editing the Secret Garden project I find myself in that place where I think a lot of photographers end up. Wanting to just shoot.
I put out a casting for models this past February who wanted to also just shoot. No big and fancy set ups, or styling. No hair or make-up just simplicity. Simply who they were in their own skin. For both shoots it was a collaboration between model and photographer. We were styling together and laughing and just having fun. Making a day out of it.
Alyssa arrived at my place to shoot 'Madame Papillon' for Secret Garden. We decided that she would come a bit earlier so that we could shoot some delicate lingerie. It was a quiet morning. We drank tea and let the soft window light drift into the room.
Bri is now living in the same city as me so it was a no brainer that we would shoot together again.
February this year was the coldest it has been in years. That frigid air really gets to you. Making you feel gloomy. The sun sets too early and it seems you are locked in your home day in and day out.
Shooting in the greenhouse was a little paradise. The warmth of the air took us away from the mountains of snow outdoors.
With bigger projects you tend to feel the pressure a bit more. With ones like this it's always a little bit easier to breathe. I have some film shots from both these shoots which I will share in the future. For now her are the digis. Thanks Alyssa and Bri!
